Trim the Tree with KKG

Style :
Every year, the alumnae of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma hold a holiday homes tour. The women do a great job securing wonderful homes and pairing them with some of the top floral designers in the city.

Last year, David Jimenez was one of the generous hosts who opened his home to nosy Kansas Citians on behalf of the Kappas and the charities they support. Jimenez's home was first published in Spaces, our hometown shelter magazine, and later in House Beautiful.

Spaces featured his home again in the December issue. It was worth a second look in it's holiday finery.

Matney Floral provided the sophisticated arrangement that complimented the home perfectly. (Chuck Matney's home is in the January issue of Spaces, which alone would make it a must see. If you don't subscribe, be sure to pick one up.) The magnolia leaf garland makes me want to put Matney on my speed dial.

This year's showing will be just as strong, I'm sure. All of the houses are lovely and there is a stellar line-up of florist as well. The gods are also smiling on the Kappas this year; we are supposed to have temperatures in the 50's this week.

The 56th Annual Kappa Kappa Gamma Holiday Homes Tour runs Tuesday the 4th from 4 until 8, Wednesday 10 until 8. Grab a friend, pop on those booties and be inspired. For more information on the homes, the designers and the causes they support hit their site.
